This is a great resource and interesting real-world data. It's funny (to me anyway) that HGST is now owned by Western Digital... after Hitachi came in and cleaned the place up following IBM's infamous failure.
The Western Digital Black is the fastest and most reliable for gaming and other program operations. If you plan on getting a Solid State Drive (SSD) and plan on recording video I also recommend the Hard drives and not the SSD because it can cause the SSD to die faster. The Hard Drives are slower than an SSD but they can take more beating and will last longer but will get slower over time. Either way the WD Black or WD Blue are both fantastic Hard Drives.

He may have gotten a bad WD Black! xD Idk man..The WD Black is supposed to preform better! Maybe he should have done a retest with another WD Black instead of basing it off of the one model he had.
