Id rather fidelio x2 or monolith m1060 than an awful m50x :\ Please do yall's research
How does Massdrop work I get the voting system so they can buy in bulk and sell it to us cheaper and what not but how do i know when they are actually going to sell these? Is there a time limit to the voting or do we need to reach a specific amount of people?
how do you by stuff on here

This isn't where you buy stuff, you need to check the "drops" section and see what you want from there.
Where are the Senn HD600s? You've got The MDR 7506/V6 listed and that's a headphone I've seen in virtually every studio for the past two decades. The HD600 improves on the reference sound and still manages to be less fatiguing than nearly any other reference headphones used by professionals. They're beloved by audiophiles and engineers alike. That's a sweet spot you shouldn't ignore.
Beats? Really? Sheeple these days...

Less of a sheeple than the M50x voters...
To all of those who so dearly want the Audio Technica M50x's (the MG model is the same headphone in matte gray, in case anyone else was wondering) and have been voting for them in almost every headphone poll everywhere... Just keep in mind what you are getting, and make sure it is really what you are looking for. Youtuber Zeos Pantera has a few very critical and objective videos explaining why the M50x's aren't for anyone, and pointing out what else might be a better option.
His original M50 review:

his second M50x review:

If you're looking for gaming headphones, he has a breakdown of good options.
Here is his review of a similar and comparatively priced headphone from Shure:
And here is his review of the Sennheiser HD 598 headphones, which I currently own and recommend for their much lower price if you don't mind open back.
And here is his review of Audio Technica's open back option in this price range, the AD 900x:
I hope this helps people further refine their decision, and keep in mind, there are hundreds of headphones out there. Don't get a pair because everyone tells you they are the best. Get a pair because they will do what you want them to do to your music, games, or movies. Never be afraid to do more research.
EDIT: Oh! And I forgot to mention, in this price range, Fostex offers an excellent lineup of planar magnetic headphones. Just jeep in mind you will definitely need a proper amp for these.

Excellent question.
If if that's what they want, then they should tailor their search to what they need. I have never done mastering, so I don't have an answer. I only encourage them to look, listen, and go out and try some headphones.

Thanks for all the recommendations. Never even heard of Fostex until now. Sadly none of their headphones look nearly as portable as the M50X's, but I'll keep them in mind.
I own the M50x's and regret the impulse buy, would way rather trade them in for some Fostex T50RP MK3 Planar's which sound way better in the same price point! Plus no more Mr.Speakers Mad Dogs Mods since he stopped production after the MK3's came out way better stock than the old MK2's which makes me happy. Tried the DT990's too and they were WAYY to bright in the treble for me, I don't like basshead headphones either but I could not deal with the fatiguing treble from the Beyer's.. just my 2 cents is all.

Fostex aren't closed headphones. I wouldn't buy the M50x still though because you can find regular M50s for around ~100 and just mod them with a detachable cable for way cheaper.
I'm very hesistant about any headphone labeled as 'semi-open'

Then buy T40RP's.....
Seriously, Beats? It's overpriced crap that JUST looks good.

I don't think you're quite telling it like it is. The Beats' aesthetic appeal is only average.
