The atom is extremely good for the first few months of regular use, but packs out quickly and isn't warm any longer. Regular maintenance didn't prevent this for me. The difference between my old one and a new on on the rack (in terms of loft and warmth) is pretty dramatic. My down jackets fare better in this regard.
