The Outdoor Vitals pad ($75) is great. I have used many of their products and they are all great for the price! Tech Specs:
  • R-Value: 4.0
  • Weights: (add 3oz for pump sack)
  • Uninsulated Reg: 1 lb (16.5 oz)
  • Uninsulated LongWide: 1lb 6oz (22oz)
  • Insulated Reg: 1 lb 4 oz (20 oz)
  • Insulated LongWide: 1 lb 8 oz (24 oz)
  • Size:
  • Regular: 20 x 72 x 3.5 Inches - Best for 6 foot and under
  • LongWide: 25 x 78 4.5 Inches - Best for 6'6" and under
  • Compressed Size: 3 x 6 x 8 Inches (possibly smaller)
  • Pump Sack Unrolled Size: 12 x 21 Inches (30 liters)
  • 20D Ripstop Polyester
  • Quick Inflate Valve
Clearly the Exped is the best. All the others weigh significantly more than 2 equivalent pads! Brand: Exped Model: HL Duo Weight: Medium = 32.1oz, Large = 41oz (includes pump and stuff sack) Dimensions: 41.3 x 72, Large = 51 x 78 R Value: 3.3 Price: medium size retails for $299, Large = $320
Brand: Klymit Model: Double V Weight: 40.5 oz Dimensions: 47 x 74 R Value: 1.6 Price: medium size retails for $129
Brand: Nemo Model: COSMO™ INSULATED 50L Weight: 63oz Dimensions 50x76 R Value: Not listed! stated 'Min temp zone = 15 to 25F' Price: $220
So, your options are a cheap and heavy-ish pad that won't keep you warm (Klymit), or an expensive pad that is way to heavy to want to carry all the time and has an unknown R-Value (Nemo), or the Exped. The Exped is expensive, but their cust. svc. and warranties are excellent, and their products are very well made and durable.
Please vote for the exped! I've had my eye on it for a while.

what're you talking about? The klymit isnt r1.6! This is the insulated version, and the r value is 4.4! Clearly better than the Exped! I'd take the Klymit over the Exped anytime! :)))
I didn’t even bother to include the insulated version of the Klymit on the list because it’s ridiculously heavy. It’s pointless to compare apples to oranges.
