Because the GMT hand on my GMT watches (TAG Heuer Carrera, Christopher Ward Trident Pro 600) can be set independently of the hour hand, I keep the hour hand set for my home time zone and set the GMT hand to GMT when I am not traveling and to the local time zone when I am traveling.

This is exactly how I manage it too.
Hi all, My thing with GMT watch is that, when I'm traveling across different time zones, I want to be able to simply shift the hour hand independently to the new time zone, while the GMT time and the minute hand stays where it is. All other movements that does not allow this, including some expensive watches, in my opinion don't really fulfill the true purpose of a GMT watch... What do you think guys?
