I have a set of 900x and I honestly love it. It's definitely difficult to get used to the way these headphones sit, but if you're not moving a ton they shouldn't be an issue. Sitting down and enjoying music or gaming can be a great experience, especially with how light they are. But if you lean over to say pick something up, the headphones will probably slide. They do not clamp almost at all, they just sit on your head, so because they're extremely light and don't put any pressure on, they can be worn for hours. The cable is indeed non detachable, lengthy, and is tough to keep straight, but aside that these are a great headphone to try. There's a reason people went through the effort of making these and the 1000/2000 detachable.
I know Fry's electronics sells the 700x and they offer a pretty easy return at a 30 day period so anyone interested in trying without necessarily committing can.
ath-ad500x(and I presume 700x as well) is a disaster. Too loose a clamp and poor articulation lead to a poor fit and the headphones falling off or sliding off your head. non detachable cable, along with a horrible cable In general. The sound they make doesn't overcome these problems and overall I just can't recommend them.
