NAD c658 looks promising with built in room correction.
How about the Cocktail Audio x35? I have over 5000 CDs ripped to flac. I'd like a player with a built in hard drive that can store all of these. I don't want to have to have a computer on all the time hosting the files. I'd much rather have everything self contained. And, I want to be able to see the cover art and artist / track tags both on the front panel and on my TV via HDMI. Plus, I want a hardware remote as well as a phone/tablet app for remote control. And of course I want it to sound good. The x35 has a sabre 9018 DAC, so I would expect good sound if they didn't botch the analog output stage. (The x30 with inferior DAC chip has mediocre reviews as far as fidelity). And, unlike most of these units, there is USB audio out for external DACs, along with toslink and optical. So, if I didn't like the built in DAC I could use any external one I desired. Add in up to 8TB of supported internal storage, and I don't know anything else under 2k that does this. These features alone would do it for me, but add in the CD ripper, recording capability, MM phone inputs for ripping vinyl, amplifier, FM tuner, and internet radio, and I think this would be a great purchase at a discount through massdrop.
