I'm absolutely certain some are dairy free as I can't imagine dairy in a bean salad...an excellent bean salad at that.
They also have a lot of "just add cool water" meals that turn out just fine without hot water or cooking which is great for "cold camps". They actually make it possible to leave the stove, fuel and mess kit behind, thereby cutting out a couple pounds from your pack.
That would be great. especially after those long days on the trail and you just want a meal without waiting to get water and boil it then wait for everything to cool and hydrate
Never had one but they show up on a few youtube videos of backpacker/hammock hangers. Always get good reviews. Some require a little more than just pouring in boiling water, but it they look worth it.
Without a doubt, THE BEST BACKPACKING FOOD MADE.
The flavor is fantastic and the portions are more than generous.
With other backpacking foods the "2 Serving" meals are more like 1 to 1.5, but NEVER 2...Packit Gourmet's 1 person (1serving) meals are bigger than others' 2 serving meals. Typically, when my buddies and I go backpacking (three of us), we'll make ONE of the full meals and supplement it with a Clif bar each and we're all good to go. Some of the lighter lunches like the chicken salads (very tasty) are more like a single serving, but two of those and one potato salad, many bean salad or black bean and corn salad will STUFF three grown and hungry men.
I'd like to go through a list of all of their foods that I've tried (more than half of them) and describe how good they all are, but I'd be at it all day. Again, without a doubt, THE BEST BACKPACKING FOOD MADE!
Oh, and I'd be a regular at any deli that had potato salad as good as this.
