Probably the largest complaint I have with Mechanical Keyboards is that I never know when I should finally buy a product. I see a lot of things I like but let them go by because I wait for that "perfect" product. A schecule would stop me from always waiting and finally feel confident enough to buy something I like. It only gets worse when I vote for keycaps with 10k requests, waiting for it to drop, and it never does and I never buy anything waiting for it.
Other websites let me look at all available products and I can feel confident I picked the best one for me. When you roll these out randomly and for a limited time then I can't make a decision.
Why is this even a question now?
MassDrop should be providing a schedule of ALL key-sets coming this way for us, I don't know why it has to be a National Secret to every customer out there.
Just be decent and provide the necessary info for all those wanting to know how long to wait and most importantly how long to save up, till their key-set shows itself here on MD.
NO.
And here is why. Because the companies making the caps are the true determining force behind when the caps are made. Delays happen all the time even before sets drop. So posting a schedule, which would inevitably be riddled with delays, would only lead to more bitching about delays, blaming MD, blah blah blah.
Just keep up with forums. Sets with ICs and connected to MD will announce tentative dates. Depending on SP and GMK sets can swap when they run to cater to a hole in a production gap. Follow designers, big polls here and you'll know many sets that are coming.
I think at least the keycaps, or anything that has a long time to market or has a high risk to the people putting the product together (an individual putting an order in for custom PCBs say).
Most products redrop once there is enough demand (usually 500~ request, depend it's price etc.). Keycaps are unique in these field because extremely high demand is required in order to make it profiable for the manufacturer, and yet most keycaps set can get 11k+ requests and you won't hear about them for years (Granite for examaple)
