Tenkara Rod Co. Teton Package

Yeah I do like badger a lot more than Tenkara Rod co for a few reasons. They're always at the Tenkara community events like Tenkara jam and Midwest Tenkara fest. They make similarly stiff Tenakara rods that are more like keiryu rods. They are affordable and functional, and I prefer the matte colors and nicer paint jobs compared to these rods here. Check them out. I still really recommend you check out some Japanese made rods though, they are faaaaar superior. Nissin is more mid flex, Suntech is more tip flex and Oni rods are pretty much the "sweet spot" rods. They're much more fun to cast and fish with.

I would recommend a type III for smaller streams and trout up to 12", and the type 1 for where you have more room for a longer Rod. If you are going for really big fish in tailwater and main stem rivers, the Oni Honryu Rod is the way to go. Anthony Naples of Three Rivers Tenkara is the official US dealer and he's an early Adopter of Tenkara - he's been in the game since at least 2009, maybe even longer....
Ugh I feel bad for the people who think Tenkara Rod co is acceptable for sale anywhere. Such low quality stuff. It's sad to keep seeing this junk show up here. I cringe when I think about all the poor unsuspecting deal hunters who are just buying these clanky, poorly constructed garbage rods thinking it'll be a great deal to learn about Tenkara. Honestly you guys are better off buying $10 extendable rods from China, Amazon, eBay on your own. The quality is just the same on many. if you want real Tenkara and keiryu rods go to Tenkarabum.com or three rivers Tenkara, Tenkara USA, badger Tenkara, dragontail Tenkara, even Tanuki Tenkara.... You could have real quality for this price from a legit company.

@Klags the ignorance of your claim is saddening. I am an original Kickstarter backer of Tenkara Rod Co and own several of theirs and Tenkara USA. I find both to make great rods. Far better than the cheap crap you're comparing them too. I have also dealt with warranty claims for both and have had wonderful experiences. Though I would like to see more Tenkara USA products here I am VERY happy to see Tenkara Rod Co here and doing well as they deserve to be bought, sold and fished. I advise you to take your brand-mongering elsewhere. I consider this a place of learned enthusiasts

The Tenkara USA Sato is a zoom rod and starts at 10' even but can extend to 11' and 12'9". That would work and is a solid rod.
