x34 is pretty bad imo, I would prefer 144 Hz without overclocking...

The way that this monitor is "overclocked" is literally just a setting to set it to 60 or 100hz (or anywhere in the middle) so its not really overclocking if you ask me.
Also, imo, 100hz vs 144 you won't notice, but a 1ms response rate vs the x34's 4ms you might. If they lower that to 1ms the monitor is already a huge improvement.
I would rather wait on the 2016 version of the x34 named the x34p to come out. They got rid of the gloss piano black back, added swivel and being able to turn the monitor vertical, and changed out the way you navigate the osd.
Waiting for this one too. It'll be the better monitor, and the originals will hopefully drop in price. Either one works for me. Although I might want some 1080 SLI to keep the frames up around 90-100 in coming titles with all the candies on.
I have the X34 and good lord it might be the best monitor ever. Not too flashy and it does everything it was built to do PERFECTLY.

I don't know of any curved IPS display that doesn't have the backlight bleed problem. It's only noticeable with VERY dark backgrounds but even then, can't see it when gaming.
And what do you mean by "studded"? Also, the monitor is 100Hz, and is "overclock able" to that speed (though it technically should have just shipped that way.) set it to 100Hz and G Sync makes any game smooth as butter.
The x34 is the way to go! Got this amazing display already. 144p ultrawide with g-sync is just heaven. With a 980ti gets most games around 100hz high/ultra. I thought I wouldnt use the internal speakers much but I use them a lot. Great screenspace for multi software use. <3 And ofc amazing for gaming!
current owner of the pg278q swift monitor from last year.
go for gsync if you can afford it people, you will be BLOWN away. i wish i've waited for the pg279q........oh well
