Agree with Zepharun. The ASUS is, regrettably, the better gaming Ultrawide right now. I'd buy that, but probably not an Acer. The QC on Acer is hit and miss right now.

Thanks bro. I already switched to Asus PG348. Worth every penny! No BLB, stable refresh rate, all in all a decent monitor indeed!

so are we going to have a drop for the x34, really interested if the shipping is decent for the UK!!!
I can't personally speak to the quality of either the Asus or the Acer monitors as I haven't personally used either of them. As far as Asus support, I have used many Asus products (mostly motherboards) over the years and have never had an issue with their technical support. I have even many times called them on legacy Asus products that were way out of their warranty coverage and always received welcoming support from them and wasn't just brushed off as if it was not relevant. I would have to say strictly from a product quality point of view, Acer has just stepped into the gaming market recently compared to Asus who has been making gaming quality products for a long time. I have not yet had a personal bad experience with any Asus product. I have however had a number of issues with Acer products (mostly laptops of non-gaming style). I do like the fit and finish of the Acer better however for this kind of money, even with a drop I will have to side with Asus. Just my $0.02.
by far asus ROG is the best , bring it to 999 and im in

512/200 come on @massdropPlease make it happen !! <3
My one gripe with the Predator is that it is advertised as a 100hz IPS panel, when in reality it is a 60hz panel that overclocks 'theoretically' up to 100hz, but in reality maxes itself out at 72-74hz before you run into serious artifacting & noise issues. Beyond that it is a great monitor, if pricey.

Most tech reviewers claim it handles a consisten 95-100 Hz without any issues
go for Asus, guys, if you want g-sync. Too many issues with Predator X34 by the way.

It is the same panel with the same issues. And as far as i'm concerned, Asus has much worse customer service than Acer. Plus, the ACER has Gsync as well. All in all, a totally irrelevant comment by a asus fanboy.

Wow, so much hate here. But there are 2 things you need to know, dude.
1. I currently own 2 Predator X34 monitors, and I did a research on both Asus and Acer thoroughly for months before buying (with a huge disappointment!) 2. I haven't even used neither Asus or ROG products before.
What I was trying to say is that both of my X34 monitors got BLB problem, plus the refresh rate could only reach 90 Hz after overclocking. It is the QC issue, not the specs that I'm concerned. And since I'm living here in Thailand, Acer customer service could be different from yours in US, so I'm not gonna talk about it. But how does that make me Asus fanboy? Please, I'm just a random guy on internet wanting to buy cheap stuffs. We can share information like a grown-up, dude, but not this fanboy shit.
Would really like freesync on the spec sheet.
i am not a fan for curved wide screens as they only help out video games and watching movies ,actuall video editing and photo editing is not so good on the curve
