i'd rather a vive than some offbrand wannabe that has 4k but it trash at everything else lol
It's kind of weird that the Vive is so much more popular here since everywhere else I look, the Oculus is pulling way ahead of the Vive in popularity.. especially after the price drops.. are you guys running on old information about roomscale? because they're both equal in terms of tracking now as long as you get the 3rd sensor. It's all good. It just doesn't make sense to me to pay more for a product that's virtually the same. This just doesn't seem to line up with what I'm seeing everywhere else so it makes me curious.

Hardware sir hardware. The vive has superior HW and have sold almost 2x the amount of units. Pulling ahead of what sir? Here is a link to help with your research. http://fortune.com/2017/06/01/samsung-sony-virtual-reality-shipments/
pc vr and mobile vr are very different. Plz don’t mix them.
That Vive photo is so old lol
Pimax 4k, anyone?
What idiot thought the GearVR was even an option? It's literally just a casing for a shitty phone.
Has there been any word on whether this will happen?
How low do u guys think the price for the HTC vice will go down to if it is a drop???
Have GearVR, will get PSVR, but dream of trying the Vive. Sadly significantly expensive, so getting on a Massdrop would be a dream.

Got the gear vr for only $20, they're everywhere since a lot of people were given them "free" with phone plans. For that price its actually pretty nice (not PC scale ofc). I use mine to watch my 3D movies sometimes in bed when I feel like it.

but paying the normal price of $100 is just dumb for a phone holder
When will this end? I'd love to get my hands on one of theese ASAP.

Just some personal input, having used an oculus w/ a 970, I would suggest a 980/1070 or above. A 970 will certainly do it, but some games require you to lower graphics settings. You really don't want to dip in frame rates trust me.

AMD's RX 400 series will also do. NVIDIA is not the only brand in the world.

Depends, if your a gamer more than a 3d renderer... yes it is unfortunately the only card to get, not a fan boy at all, I would love to see something better... but Nvidia remains king for gaming.
It is leading by far, with many features that makes both gaming and VR a whole lot better and more stable of an experience. (plus many games give AMD card users a lot of problems mainly due to developers focusing more on Nvidia cards over AMD)
Great! Is a drop being considered??

Probably not in in a million years.
Vive
I have been really juggling between the two. The pricing is very similar so i do feel cheated with the oculus being less 'enviromentaly interactive'. But I am more of a long session gamer so Oculus Rift is probably for me, i just wish they would lower the price so that it seems more worth it in comparison to the vive

It looks like touch will add a second sensor, enabling room space with the Rift as well. I just wish they'd announce a release date for the touch controllers!

well black Friday is coming, might be worth the wait just to see what offers come up... maybe even snag an offer on a rift with oculus touch controllers bundle
