This is brinksmanship on a fanboy/flame war.

I went with my choice of Sony simply because I find the features to be very high marks from the reviews out there and more accessible price-point. And I do use Sony cameras for that same high quality and being able to afford much much more ... With the right couple of adaptors, you can use most of the fine lenses available, which may truly be the more important aspect of how images get to the back of the camera anyway. And I gotta say; when you can touch the edge of TRULY medium format at the price asked for the a7ll...you gotta give props.
I think, with Nikon and Canon, a substantial part of your cash is paying for NAME. It's been that way for a LOOOOOOONG time. Way back in the pre-digi day, some of that was deserved...but even then, Minolta caught up with quality at a much lower price point and began crafting excellent lenses. And adaptors for better ones. And I can use some of my KonicaMinolta analog lenses on my Sony even now, if I accept the completely manual operation and work involved in doing that.

We can inform other peeps about why we like specific brands, learn something new about other schtuff without it becoming hostile. Just gotta respect.
