I carry a AAA flashlight at all times and I've tried many of the options out there. I like something that isn't much larger than the AAA battery itself, is bright, reliable, and turns on and off easily. I've tried several Fenix models and their cheaper clones, but the Streamlight Microstream is my pick. Not the absolute brightest, but plenty bright, most reliable, great pocket clip, USA made, and great ergonomics.
