For what it's worth, I own three Ernest Alexander bags, and have had the messenger since the brand was just starting out. They make great stuff. Hard to argue with Filson, though, and Nigel of Black House Project makes everything himself in San Francisco. I'm sure there are other good options out there, but these are the ones that come to mind!
