Guys, the Adam Audio F5 and Airmotiv 5S really need more attention. They are probably the main competitors to the Audioengine A5+ domination, give them a look online. A lot of people tout them as superior to the A5+, of course that's subjective but the point is that there are more options than just Audioengine!
Not only are they comparable, but they best them in every single category according to all the reviews. Heck, even the Airmotiv 4s beat the A5+ by a mile.
"The new Audioengine A5+ speakers ($399/pair) can't touch the airmotiv 4's clarity. That extends to the bass--the A5+'s bass definition is softer and looser than the airmotiv 4's."

I really don't understand why the A5+ get so much love here. Don't get me wrong, they're not bad at what they do, there's just better out there even if you take price into consideration.
I really want an audioengine drop. Been looking for some nice desktop speakers. A2+ would rock because they're small and affordable. Wouldn't mind the KRK Rokits either.
I have the A2+ and they're phenominal. I really would like a drop for these so I could grab a pair for my brother. Their size and sound is just amazing, and the ones with the white finish look awesome. Only caveat is the bass, but audioengine sells a subwoofer that can be attached (I've also got that and it rocks).
