Yes, it's possible for any razor (cheap or otherwise) to last a very long time if treated right. But razors made entirely out of durable materials (stainless steel) will last even if they take a beating (e.g. if you plan to travel with the same razor you use at home).
Also, the all-stainless NON plated ones likewise will last longer visually as well (as chrome plating can flake off over time) - so I'd chose choose a Weber, Feather over say, a Merkur or other good, but chrome plated razors.
