JunkMailTo give them [Massdrop] the benefit of the doubt, it could be that maxpedition or Cocoon didn't want to wholesale their product or offer it as a discount. They do have companies that do not want to cooperate (IE. Cards against Humanity, OnePlus). So I would give them an A for effort for finding a backup; however I would give them a D- for finding a product so overwhelmingly expensive, the price doesn't justify the product.
