I've got the Higonakami and while it's pretty cool and great for collectors, it's really not a practical EDC knife. Deformities seem to be somewhat common as well, which can be good or bad depending on your intentions for the knife. They don't come with a great blade but they're very easy to sharpen.
The Svord is a friction folder too. I purchased a Svord because I saw them mentioned on a blade forum and they're pretty cheap. I gotta say, I was not impressed at all. The blade comes pretty dull and the edge was very poorly ground to begin with. Took me about 3 hours to clean it up and put a decent edge on it. I guess that's what you should expect for something so inexpensive, but then I've been spoiled by the quality you get from companies like Mora.
