I just played with the Fly Creek at the outdoor retailer expo and the thing is flimsy. I would not want to be caught in a storm in there. I think the Copper Spur is worth the added weight.

PhotofeverAgreed. The spur is a much better choice.

PhotofeverI disagree. It really depends on how you guy it out. I have the slater UL2, which is a larger version of the fly creek without the mesh upper(keeps sand out in the desert). I've used it at base camps above treeline, camped near treeline, and it withstood up to 80mph gusts of wind. Flimsy is not how I would describe this tent, but most of its stability comes from the guylines NOT the tent poles. Comparing the fly creek platinum UL2 to the copper spur UL1 it's half the weight. Copper spur is a much more classic tent it relies primarily on tent poles. Honestly I feel like I could guyout my slater UL2 to withstand worse weather than a copper spur UL1.
