clewNot entirely true. Frogg Toggs are definitely both. Plus they are super cheap and light. Downsides are durability and lack of stylishness. Their "fabric" is more like a fluffy version of tyvek than a fabric, which is how it manages to actually be breathable.
bogamoI guess you and I have different ideas on "breathable" and "waterproof". Even the 2.5 layer jackets like Paclite will loose their breathable ability when the DWR starts wearing off and the fabric wets out. I bit the bullet and went with Mountain Hardwear's Dry Q. Elite and so far it's completely waterproof and breathes well, but it ain't cheap unfortunately and even calling that breathable is a stretch in my opinion.
