We've reached out to the vendors of the top two products, but unfortunately, we are unable to secure drops for the Audeze LCD 2 or Sennheiser HD800 at this time.

Seeing that all of their products are made by hand, rumors have been going around that audeze can't afford to supply so many for massdrop. However, it is just a rumor.
I think it has more to do with the image they want to maintain for their brand. It's the same reason why companies like Louis Vutton would never work for a group buy site. It cheapens the name.
If the purchase is even half of the vote count, then we should get a really good discount similar to the HD-600s (minus the logistics issues, though we could easily run into those again simply due to the quantity).
M50's sound good IMO but to be honest are extremely uncomfortable. The pads feel like hard plastic even after like months of use, luckily I found some replacements from a different headset that hopefully alleviate this issue. Now all I need to do is find a solution to this long as hell cord(other than a braid). Just some insight into the headphones people can't say bad things about.
The pads should definitely be replaced. Modding the M50 to have a removable cable is super easy to do too. M50's are a safe choice imho for a drop, since its reasonably priced compared to some other really great ones.
