In Michigan, my LGS is charging $300 because they say "the max box allocation to any store is 48 boxes and there won't be any more after that".
In addition, the cost to the LGS is $150 per box. Using the higher powers of math, they are profiting $150/box.
I am hoping if MassDrop can get this they can set the price range from $230 to $210 at least
I would really enjoy a booster box, especially because I'm planning on hosting a draft and my store isn't telling me how much they think they'll be selling one for. +1 for this drop.
The game stores are jacking up the pricing but wizards of the coast is not. If Massdrop could buy them them directly from wizards it would be an excellent deal. The games stores will be selling them at $10 a pack and wizards is not changing the prices . Please massdrop try to work out something directly with Wizards of the coast. I am pretty sure if a third of the people who want modern master on this site. Right now is 250 people buy it. Wizards might go through with the purchasing of the product.
Just a heads up that Wizards of the Coast has a pretty restrictive retailer agreement that prevents us from working directly with them. Given how they are distributing tiny allocations to stores in the first wave, it will be fairly difficult for us to obtain until larger print runs incentivize retailers to do more volume.
If someone could start a poll to see demand we could maybe have something to work with? I know nearly everyone in my group (5-7 guys) want a box each, at least, and we cant find a single one that isn't already pre-ordered or marked up over $320.
If it's booster boxes, rest assured the price will be high as hell(even here on massdrop) and you will not be able to get one. they'll all be gone before you can refresh.
Well for the first modern masters set it is currently hard to find at good prices and many places just don't have any. It will be easier to get the new set as it has yet to come out so massdrop could work out a deal before the release to get their hands on enough product at a reasonable price,
I would prefer to be able to get a Booster Box, however the 3 pack deal was the only option that worked last time, so if people would prefer that, or if Massdrop could only pull off that option, that would be fine as well.
