I have a strix 970 and it will get around 40-50 fps 60 on certain games on low to medium settings in 4k . for the price of the card its great . unfortunatly for me its my first pc and when u have seen a game in 4k you CANNOT go back to 1080p for the frames or even 2560 for that matter. my friend was in the same boat using a 780-ti and playing in 4k however the fps isnt the best for first person shooters n such so he got a Gigabyte 1080 ,now hes getting solid 60 in ultra (AA off, dont need in 4k anyway) so i know what the card is capable of but its quite steep on the pricetag. if they did a drop on the 1080 that would be awesome, although its inevitable that im gonna end up with one anyways lol.
I have been using a MSI 970 4gb (3.5gb ddr5) and it has been able to do any game with ultra settings at 1080p no problem. I would like to sli it and do not have a monitor that can do more than 1080p so not looking for anything super strong just yet. I would recommend it for anyone who is looking for great 1080p performance.
Basically the same card, ASUS STRIX GeForce GTX 960 Overclocked 4 GB is on amazon already for 230 with a discount. Should push for a little higher threshold.
Why am I not seeing ANY video cards get voted up to the point where they get a drop? All I see is mostly useless crap that I can't believe ppl would vote for. Spools of thread? a bamboo laptop cooler? Wth is really going on with site ????
