CEOWe've looked into SSDs and it's basically impossibly for us to make this work largely due to the quantity needed to run a drop (minimum of tens of thousands). Margins are slim and the companies mentioned (mainly Samsung) are much too large to work with a group of this size as of now. As a result, we'll be closing this poll.

a friend got a crucial M4, which fortunately isn't in this poll. Their firmware shuts the drive off after so many hours, no fix in the pipe beyond buying a new drive.<br /><br />OCZ is a good drive across the board from what I hear, but "someone experienced in these things" says after installing four different brands of SSD, he finds Samsung to have the best value per dollar, with the pro floating to the top of his list.<br /><br />oddly I heard this _after_ I voted for the samsung pro suggested here :-D

@Ka.avik - My friend and I both got the Crucial M4 and it's been more than a year since we've used it. I thought that issue was resolved as long as you updated the firmware. I hope mine isn't going to die anytime soon.. but it seems to be perfect for now.
For anyone not entirely sure what the difference between all the Samsung drives is, the Pro is faster than the Evo but the Pro is more expensive per GB.
