It is a riot that 40 of us, myself included, voted for the Patek 5175R-001. Only 7 were made and and they are all spoken for. Thierry Stern, the President of Patek Phillipe, personally approves the purchaser of each watch through a very strict application process.
I guess the poll winners won't be submitted for some reason. Maybe massdrop hasn't had chance to develop a working relationship with some of the more "premier" watchmakers just yet. A great shame, would love to see the jazzmaster, Omega moonwatch and Maurice Lacroix skeleton in my collection.
The Patek is not for "mass order". The Nomos is certainly interesting as they manufacture everything from the movement until casing in-house, thus the price is higher than everything else listed here, save for the Speedmaster. Is there any price limit for the item we can suggest?
Hamilton a very historic watch manufacturer with a rich American history as well as some historic innovations in watchmaking. It was bought in 1974 by what is now the Swatch Group. In 2003, Hamilton (HQ & manufacturing) were moved in total to Switzerland. Hamilton movements are Swiss, designed in conjunction with ETA, in Switzerland with Swiss parts. Hamilton watches are Swiss Made, through and through, but have maintained the American history and spirit in their designs. To say otherwise is patently untrue.
