Hey writing enthusiasts, I wanted to alert you all to something that we've just introduced:
Drop Credits (alpha test): https://www.massdrop.com/buy/audioengine-a5-plus
This did not get a particularly warm reception on the first pass, but we're very interested in getting feedback from other communities about it before deciding how to proceed.
I was hoping that we'd have great success on this, and I could propose trying this or something similar to make TWSBI available here, which we currently cannot because of the pricing policy.
I welcome and and all comments. The big question we need to answer is: If this was the *only* way to make brands (like TWSBI) available, would credits toward a future Massdrop order be worth enough to you that you would consider joining a drop for a product at full MSRP?

JonasHeinemanI plan on buying a TWSBI anyway, so if the one I want to purchase is available, I would be more than happy to purchase it here at full price for drop credit. It's basically at a cheaper because you'll get credit for something else anyway.

JonasHeinemanI like the idea of Drop Credit, and the more that people join, the more credit you get. I'd be up for trying this on a TWSBI drop.

JonasHeinemanI feel like it could work really well here, especially since there's pens that show up that are *just* out of peoples' reach regularly and we're all addicts. A community like the audio one is less likely to be constantly looking for additions to their collection than we are, since they tend to be looking for "just the right piece" to complete or improve their setup. Because of this, it could help get people into more drops, as well as making some of the higher-end pens more accessible for those of us who can only rarely go over $100 on a single pen.
Also, for TWSBI specifically, could you look into the possibility of a bundle? For example, they may be unwilling to do the Vac700 below MSRP, but they might let you drop a few bucks from the price of the Vac20 inkwell that goes with it, and so together, it'd make for a good deal. Same with their other pens and inkwells together; I know it'd reel me in.
Also, I think offering free shipping would also draw people in, since their policy seems to be that *you* can get it for less, but can't offer it for less? Seems like there might be room for that in there.

KrisLyssaraThanks @ATC729 @Yary @Shockdub @SimonandGarpunkel for letting me know. It looks like drop credits are on hold, at least for the time being, but I am passing these comments along.
In the meantime, I am always happy to try again with TWSBI to make something happen here.

JonasHeinemanI, for one, would buy a TWSBI Vac at full MSRP here for drop points, mostly for the really great international shipping prices.
