I'd been using the boxes the keys came in for storage, but that's a hassle. They don't always fit well, and you have to open the box to see what's inside. I'm mainly using the Max sized one I bought to store the left over keys from mixing some other sets together. I feel like $15 is a fair price. They won't hold up to being used as a self defense weapon, but they'll sit in a closet and display your spare keys just fine.
Bought three of the Max size trays and condensed seven keycaps sets into them without issue. Definitely a good option to reduce clutter from extra packaging.
I bought the Max version for my MT3 keycaps, but like others have said there are quality control issues. The spacing in my tray is not consistent and the keycaps don't actually fit in some of the rows, defeating the whole purpose of it. In particular the 1u slots are the exact size of the keycap so it's obviously not going to work.
Seems like a nice tray otherwise, but I would advise buying through another vendor. Drop would NOT accept a return or make any attempt toward a resolution. In case you get a dud like mine, it would be best to go through a seller that can return/refund or make an exchange.
I have 10 of these. They really helped me declutter and the max can fit a base kit plus multiple add-on sets. A couple of these have lids that bow, but since they stack I just placed those on the bottom of the pile.
I like the tray to house keycaps and have them organized but my most recent tray has some quality issues. The top plastic panel slightly is bowed outward. So when the case is closed the lid doesnt sit flush enough to keep the keycaps in place. Kind of defeats the purpose of getting such a tray. Maybe you will have better luck.
I bought these to replace what my GMK sets and the child kits came in and they work really well! They stack nicely on top of each other and hold the keycaps mostly in place. My only gripe is that sometimes the keycaps will slide everywhere or flip over, but it functions well and gets the job done!
I have a stack of these and they work as expected, but at this pricepoint, you can now find cases elsewhere with some combination of sturdier build, better fitment, magnetic closures, and/or nicer aesthetics.
passing-breezeI tried looking online for a comparable storage tray at a lower price point, did you have a specific one in mind when you said this? Id be very interested if you can share!
