I've gotten two wristrests by moon key at this point and for both the rests look better in person than in the photos. The colors are slightly darker but I think it looks better that way. You can really see the depth (depth as in not flat) and the contents inside the rest are detailed and sharp
Looks great! My only complaint is it's not really Lord of the Rings themed and it's more Hobbit themed. I wish there were some LOTR ones to match the artisan keycaps.
This wrist rest is gorgeous, the colours are so vibrant and the details glimmer so beautifully.
Such a joy to look at, the way it looks 3D when looked at from different angles.
It’s a nice height and is fit for purpose; be it as a wrist rest or a display of art.
I love this wrist rest, looks amazing, and the feel is great. But as another person stated the QC is meh, cause I do have some wobble to mine as it is also bent particularly in the upper left corner which is where my hand rests during long gaming areas. Only reason I would not recommend this to a friend is because unless you are deep into LOTR and The Hobbit, this price tag and the QC will drive many people away. All in all beautiful piece of art just which it didn't move while typing this review.
Gorgeous but dull, with missing foot and other loose feet
I purchased the Smaug's Eye TKL wrist rest and it is gorgeous, I love the depth to it and how it looks 3D. One thing you need to know about purchasing this item however is that it is much more dull than in the photos inside as it only has bright colours when it is in complete sunlight. This is also compounded by there being less red flakes (more orange irl) when comparing mine to the pictures but this may just be because it is handpainted so it will not be 1:1. Additionally, the design of the eye has changed as it is not totally yellow and is more a gold to white design now, I would probably like the original design better but it still looks really good.

Now we get to my problems with the wrist rest, which is the bottom of it. The bottom of the wrist rest is sub-par, as like what one other reviewer has said, the legs are made with cheap plastic and just glued on. Because of this, I am missing one of the feet (which may cause sagging issues), one foot has been pushed out of alignment and is loose, and there is also one other loose foot (they wiggle when I press them back and forth rather than staying solid). So 2/6 loose feet and 1/6 not even there, great odds! The photos are also misleading as in them it shows just one normal sized foot in the middle, rather than what I received, which is a small bead-like plastic foot with another spot of glue on the bottom middle for another (I assume, as it has fallen off before it was shipped and is nowhere in my parcel). The bottom also comes with multiple scratches and dings, some left over sticky pieces of glue and a piece of paper stuck to the top left foot. Horrible quality control!

Ultimately I was really excited for this product, and it does look gorgeous but I am ultimately left disappointed with the build quality and quality checks. These cost cutting measures and lack of quality checks is not okay for an artisan product.
Love the aesthetic of the product, the relief on the painted scale is amazing and i have to say it's a really good piece.
But ! and yes there is a big but i was very disappointed with the quality overall, i can see some spots of foreign material between the paint and the resin, there is some cracked paint at one spot (though this isn't too bad and i assume to be expected) but the resin itself on top is scratched and the back is scratched aswell, there is a big mark near the drop writing.
At that price point it's simply not acceptable to send a product like this to a client.
I read a few reviews with QC issues and my copy is no exeption. The whole wrist-rest is slightly bent thats why it wobbles and does not sit straight on the desk. Everything worked fine with the drop support and we found a solution. But still, for this price you would expect a perfectly built wrist-rest.
These look fantastic, but when I received mine it was very warped. Drop swapped it out without any trouble (great customer service) and the replacement was warped as well. If you're willing to figure out a solution to keep it stable on a desk or you just want it for decoration, then I can recommend this product -it really does look incredible and even the photos don't do it justice. There's a 3D effect to it that's really cool. If you want something that will sit on a hard surface without rocking then just beware that you may receive a warped product and/or have to go through multiple replacements before getting a flat one.
