This keyboard fits with and elevates the theme of my desktop. It is also, thus far, been a joy to type on. It has been a bit of an adjustment not having the 10-key section of the keyboard, but I feel like the reclaimed desk space makes up for it.
The keyboard is lovely, and I appreciate that it came with extra keys and a key cap puller.
My disappointment is that the LED light isn't working well with the white keys. Adjusting the brightness fixes it a little bit.
The switches are lovely and honestly sounds like a keyboard that someone would use for an ASMR video. I understand the backlight does look bad on the green color variant; however, the brown option's backlight does look very good because the backlight for the space bar (or any key for that matter), doesn't actually shine through.
This product was just as described in the product info and as pictured. The keys were buttery smooth to the touch with a gentle pressing feeling. The "clicking" sound of pressing the keys was not over bearing and like ASMR to my ears!
I absolutely love this keyboard. It's my first for myself, though I bought the Dwarven keyboard as a gift for my husband. As huge LOTR fans, this is a dream come true. The quality is awesome, and the lighting was a nice surprise. I will definitely be buying more.
I am by no means a MKB connoisseur (I still use a generic Razer one from a decade ago on the regular that keyboard snobs would turn their nose up at) and I think the overall design aesthetic, weight and feel of the keyboard are all top notch. The keycap design is nice but as others have pointed out, the LEDs illuminating the yellow keycaps leave a weird "hot spot" look that leaves something to be desired, although you can always turn the LEDs off. As for the switches, I personally enjoy more of a "clicky" experience akin to Cherry MX Blues but the typing experience is by no means terrible, and switch preferences are just that - preferences. I don't believe the keyboard was advertised as having hot-swappable switches so this is not a negative for me, but it certainly would've been nice to have at least a choice of what switches it ships with (this is my first Drop purchase so I don't know if this is something they usually do). Overall still a great keyboard for any Lord of the Rings fan, just a few additional touches would've bumped it up to a 5/5 for me.
