I've never had a gaming headset but these have been great for my first purchase. I've worn them for a few hours at a time with no major annoyances. For the sale price of $49 it was a pretty easy decision and I'm pleased with it.
- nice sound quality, though I've never tried any higher end headsets to compare them to
- build quality really good, plastic but they are very premium
- could be more comfortable but can wear them 2 hrs before it becomes a big deal, more than enough for me
- nice snug fit and the sound isolation is better than some noise cancelling headphones I've tried. For me I like to have complete immersion in a game and these are absolutely great for that.
I was a bit worried when I saw the frequency response included with the headphones but honestly, it's been great for me so far. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and it's great for gaming and I've found that music is pretty good too. I'm coming off of the DROP + KOSS GMR-54X-ISO headphones and they were fine for the ~$25 I paid for them however they snapped in two out of nowhere one day and I had to get a replacement here and this is what I came to. 100% would recommend at this price range.
The sound quality for what you pay for these is pretty damn good. I never tried the original H3, but I can see that they dropped the enormous bass shelf on these by like 5-10db. I can tell they are a bit light on bass now, almost akin to an open back to my ears, but the audio is crisp and clear. I have mine paired to a Fosi K5 Pro, and that has bass and treble adustment dials, so you can crank the bass up to give it more oomph. I have an H6Pro I use at the office and stock, the bass is insane on those, so they really cut that down a bit. Speaking of the H6Pro, this headset is like almost a mini version of that. The ear cups are a bit smaller than the H6, and with the H6, my ears (a bit longish) barely touch the cups. H6 also has a detachable mic. The H3X however are a bit smaller, and in this case they basically wrap around them and feel snug, and not in a bad way, just a bit smaller than I was expecting. They can be a bit clampy at first, but this can be quickly fixed by just bending the spring steel headband and they loosen right up. Overall I'd say they're amazing at $50. I'd highly recommend them at this price. Maybe we'll see an H6X someday, I'd scoop that bad boy up if they made one.
Wow ! I got this ones on sale and i was Pleasantly surprise ! , they feel great and the material is of high quality , they sound really good , my only complaint is they do have some clamping force in the head that i guess with time will go away, other than that , amazing !!!
I wouldn't use these for gaming - the mic is decent but sensitive to background noise. Audio is good but a little hollow for gaming or even music. Band is pretty tight at first but I have a big head.
