Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

So the drop ends in 6 hours, when approximately can I expect to receive the headphones? Two weeks? Three weeks? A month? Many months?
Also, I'm not really an audiophile at all and plan on using these for listening to music while at work and then gaming at home. From some searching I've done, it appears as if adding a DAC or amp would only hinder my gaming performance. I mostly play FPS games so positional audio is very important.
I wouldn't expect a Massdrop too fast but usually near when they estimate they are shipping from their warehouse if you add about a week. Keep an eye on the comments or your email to get a good idea when it will arrive.
Surround headsets are a gimmick anyways. All you need is a pair of headphones with good soundstage.
For additional positional audio most gamers (FPSers like myself) use some sort of virtual surround sound software to emphasize the positional effect of the two drivers. I currently use Razer Surround, it's decent. The other factor for positional sound from a stereo setup is the soundstage of the headphone. Audiophile grade headphones will have a better soundstage than gamer grade headsets hands down, and open headphone usually better than closed headphones (however everyone seems to claim the SS on these are similar to "open"... we'll see).
My main point: get a good DAC if your motherboard doesn't have one already. Get good virtual surround sound software if the positional effects of your stereo headset / headphones are not up to your standard on a specific game. For me personally, I went with the Creative SoundBlaster E5 for two reasons: it has a more desirable DAC than my onboard for my gaming preferences (prefer a stronger bass), and the surround software that is included with the E5 (Scout Mode - hear footsteps at greater distances, SBX - enhances 3D surround sound effects, etc).
In the end it's going to be up to your personal preference but I can almost guarantee that this headphone paired with a quality microphone will enhance your gaming experience... but it will not make you a better shot. :)
EDIT: Sorry Quasar, this was meant to be a direct reply to Aliens.
Edit: Never mind, just saw it on the description page.
