Schmaltzy gen-x, y, z video pitches always turn me off. Possibly looking for gear, definitely not looking to join your parade/costume party. Camera crap/gear/stuff ≠ lifestyle.

AllegoryGoodsLet me ask you a couple of questions: Why do you think who you are and why you quit your day-job as a successful hedge fund manager/nuclear physicist/bar tender to create/reinvent the worlds best bicycle lock/cork remover/whole bean grinder/camera strap is relevant to my purchase decision? Does anybody care who runs Ford/GM/Porsche when they decide they want a Mustang/Corvette/911? Does anybody care why Nikon/Canon/Sony decided to get into the camera business? No, they don't. And the counterproductive portion of that pitch out weighs the benefit you think it adds to the conversation, because if I don't like you, I don't like your product--and you're going to have a much tougher time getting me to like you, than you would getting me to like a product I just may have a need for. Short version: people are more inclined to buy what they like, because they like it, rather than because they like the the guy selling it. There are exceptions of course, but Steve Jobs, you ain't (no offense). Telling me what I need, on the other hand is insulting (especially using worn-out Ginsu marketing cliches like "it's the only "x" you'll ever need." That kind of pitch is damned presumptuous and tends to reveal more about your needs, than your understanding/appreciation of mine. Allegory: a story, poem, or picture that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one. Nothing particularly allegorical in your pitch; the meaning isn't well hidden, or especially deep either: sell shit, make money. I don't have problem with that, I may actually need shit, but I don't want to be your friend just now, and I'm not looking for a spirit guide to help me navigate the mysterious world of camera straps. Show me what you got, what it does, and how much you want for it--I'll figure out all the rest. You know, transparency is a pretty scarce commodity these days and a little bit can go a long way towards getting consumer attention. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJMq_7alQpU Okay, that's all you get'n for free--but here's something for you and your crack R&D team to figure out: I have two Nikon bodies (both D8XX models) and a slew of primes and zooms--all of that stuff weighs a damn ton--but I've never used a neck strap (and rarely, if ever, use a tripod or monopod). You don't suppose that's because I can't find someone who's selling camera straps, do you?

RayFI just happened to stumble on your comments. All I can say is what a crock of crap; you clearly like expressing your opinions but you should remember that is all they are, one person's view. And poorly (and offensively and arrogantly) expressed...
