Wait. Isn’t that what the metal clip is for on the flashlight?

JNKRThis is for people who don't like carrying a clip light in their pocket and don't want to destroy their belt by clipping the flashlight directly to it. It also allows you to carry the flashlight scout style (canted left or right).

american-bench-craftOn first glance, the holster looks useful. However, upon really studying it, the holster seems to take an awful lot of real estate on a belt. Let's face it, guys who carry stuff on their belts will very rarely have something they may need in a hurry anywhere but on their hips within a two to four "hour" range of placement. I wear a gun at approximately 4:00. I wear a multi-tool at approximately 8:00 to (at the most) 9:00. Being right-handed, I would want my flashlight available to my strong hand, whether cross-draw or straight strong-hand-draw. In either case this holster would necessitate me wearing either the multi-tool or the gun holster further towards my back, or, the flashlight on the strong-hand side might have to be further towards my back, but in any case, something is going to be a giant lump in the small of my back when sitting. No can do.
I love leather and would buy this even for alternative belt setup usage if it didn't cause something that I already carry to end up moved to make room for the flashlight holster. Also, I fail to see how this is "mall ninja" costumery. There's lights at the mall and nobody wearing the typical "ninja" garb would be allowed in a mall anyway, and even if they would, a flashlight is not a weapon per se, and wouldn't be counted amongst a "ninja's" tactical weapons kit. It looks very useful to me for someone who has enough belt real estate to give up. I just simply don't. Plus I don't think the light I carry most often would even fit (Klarus G-20). I use my flashlights as flashlights, in the woods (on my own property) for the most part, but living in the country I also use them during my own or someone else's breakdowns for changing a flat or jumping off a dead battery - whatever have you. This holster might qualify as a bit of "country-livin' ninja" costumery, but definitely not "mall" ninja!

BlueTomThanks for the detailed feedback. Totally understand where you are coming from, but if it's any consolation this holster is only 3.5" wide and really doesn't take up too much belt real estate. I wear mine on the same side as my multitool and both fit on my hip (multitool slightly forward and flashlight slightly rear).
