I don't feel alone in saying this. Considering that the original estimated time for completion 2-4 weeks after the drop, I am disappointed that after two and a half months to be informed that there is no solid date in which to expect my order to be fulfilled.
However I can't hold Massdrop is responsible for this. The speed and accuracy of other drops I have participated, along with the information and option to be refunded when the length of delivery was changed from the conditions stated in the original drop makes it more likely that American Optics just hasn't playing it straight. It just seems more likely that they fulfilled orders that were more profitable and the drop was relegated to be fulfilled whenever.
100 out of 227 is rather a lackluster effort. How many people have dropped out so far? Is there any idea of which styles/lenses/sizes they are shipping? Not that it means anything, but have they given a time frame in which to expect it to be completed? I think it pretty much goes without saying that anyone whose order is not in the 100 they are shipping will cancel their order.
Maybe the only thing we could collectively do is agree to cancel the the whole order if they can't ship the whole order within a week. Although it seems likely that a sizable portion of us will receive sunglasses as part of the 100 pair shipment, for me it would feel better to tell American Optics to stuff it.
