disengageCan't get a refund now. 23 days is obnoxiously incompetent shipping and logistics, not having products ready if going to commit to offer a group buy like this. I am assuming Antlion does not have in stock and has to wait for factory and shipping from China.
zymphadThe whole Massdrop thing is not like that, you got it all wrong.
1) Massdrop users get together and declare their interest in some particular product.
2) Massdrop then contacts the manufacturer/vendor and informs them about a bunch of people who want to buy in bulk.
3) The manufacturer/vendor gets together with Massdrop to talk about discount and the drop is created.
4) After the drop has ended (no standard and safe way to predict the exact amount of people to join beforehand), Massdrop places the bulk order.
5) The manufacturer/vendor makes/gathers the products and sends them over to Massdrop for the final distribution.
This is no SALES event. They don't try to sell out all their stock that's sitting somewhere, catching dust. There is no stock to begin with. This is different.
And, you know, it is not a good policy for a company to always have, like, 5000 products in a warehouse, just in case there is a group of people who might gather and buy altogether.
There is a similar discussion over at Massdrop's page of the Mionix 7000 (and let me tell you that the waiting time for that mouse is way, WAY longer).
IronMojiWell, even if someone does not know how this works, they should read the faq. I know I did, the moment I joined.
ps: Man, this modmic is hot, the drop just ended and there are almost 500 requests already.
