Maybe this is another example of the "Is the dress blue & black or white & gold" optical illusion. Because in the 4th and 5th photos it really looks like it's black with a blue interior for the bill pocket.

Going back and looking at it again I could see it being all black and the blue just being a trick of the lighting.
Either way I'm in for one of the Black Dublins, although I don't know enough about leather to know if/why Dublin is worth the extra $15 over the CXL. I'd be very interested if anyone could expand on this.

Galaxy3Hmm...in that photo it looks white and gold to me...
Galaxy3The blue you are seeing on the interior of the wallet is the back side (suede side) of the exterior, bill slot of the wallet. We finish the back sides of the leather with a stain coat, wax coat, and ironing process that really makes the wallet great. The card holders are black for all colors with the exception of natural Essex.

ashlandleatherWhat would you say differentiates Dublin from CXL?

Galaxy3I had the same questions and if you google you will find detailed explanations. Basically, the Dublin gets the same tanning process as Shell Cordovan, but using cow or horse hide instead of the horse sinew that defines Shell Cordovan. CXL leather is tanned using a chromium process, and supposedly has more of a semigloss appearance whereas Dublin is supposedly more matte.
Galaxy3For small leather goods I highly prefer the Dublin as, in my experience, it ages much nicer in the pocket. The grain is much more pronounced on the Dublin and the Chromexcel is a much more smooth grain characteristic. Both Dublin and Chromexcel will have the nice depth of color that is called "pull up". The feel is more waxy on the Dublin and oily on Chromexcel. You can't go wrong with either to be honest. They are both about the nicest leather you can get.
