Rather sad that Drop goes for one of the least attractive AVI-8 watches. I own 3 automatics and really like them. Limited production. I have a pair of now unobtainable P-51s with Green Dial and Black Dial. Have NH35 movements. Sapphire crystals.

OldFinnYes, not the most attractive AVI-8: I did have the previous automatic Hunter with the green dial tan strap; was a lot better, but the main time info. numerals were at the Cardinal hours,and was semi transparent; it was also quite bulky so although it did look great I sold it as my arm was getting tired!!!(just joking) I nearly did go for one of these Mustang P51's ,you made a good choice. Although Seiko NH35 gets a good wrap with lots of followers I have had great experience with the Miyota auto's that AVI-8 have had in many of their watches; the three NH35 movements I have had the last couple of years I have sold on because of poor time keeping!!(running excessively slow) Maybe I was just unlucky.

JAoneMy P51s keep really great time. I think they were regulated before shipping. Both run about 5 seconds fast / 24 hours. Really nicely made.

I am also happy that I am not the only guy who purchases two of the same model watch because I like both colours, I just bought two Alpina Startimer watches, in green dial black case, and grey dial steel case ,both with cream markings with that military aviation look, and then paired them up with two identical leather straps but different colours. Not unlike the P511 look. My wife thinks I am nuts, but at least there are two of us.LOL. If I come across a P51 I might just have a go; but I don't normally buy unless 60% or more discount, which is probably why I missed the P51ss' in the first place. That's why I missed the Bradley Mountain AVI-8 collaboration waiting for the discount which never came!!

OldFinnHey, I remember you like nh35 autos and something a little different like the AVI-8 Mustang; I was looking at the re-release Pepsi sub combat ,which I like but still waiting for the GlO078; so maybe not. But just bought a great nh35 watch from Geckota site sale, for around $160 usd. thought you might like it, another UK brend not unlike the higher end AVi-8. Good luck. If you did get the pepsi sub combat tell me what you think; at some time or other I also wish to get a value pepsi dial diver.
