This knife deserved a better review. After spending more time with it and sharpening it every chance I get. The blade is actually easy to manipulate and will become sharper over time and honing. Its a delight to have in your hand and flip open and closed. The long blade serves as a unique addition to any folder collection.

I took the liberty of dyeing the orange scales red. The result is a beautiful red woodesqe ascetic. I am very pleased with the outcome and this knife is a great house knife if not just a joy to handle.

D2 is alright. If you hit something harder like glass or stone you might chip or round the knife edge. Returning the edge to nominal state is actually pretty quick and easy with a Fallkniven DC4 + steel hone. Its a great food knife as you can touch up the edge before every use. Honestly, people are likely blinded by the price when it comes to quality of blade. But don't let the price fool you! The swordfish is constructed and designed phenomenally while still managing to be something of a show knife.

Use it once for a monumental task and it will work. But consider it used until you hit the sharpening stone again. Fit and finish are great. Materials are wanting.. Even the G10 seems a little under spec for proper G10 mixture ratios. It does take a color dye, albeit not easily like Spydercos natural G10 mix. Roughly 1 hour @ 180F + vngr + slt.

PS: This knife is wanting Bestech! It wants a high performance CPM steel and Titanium or Micarta scales for a premium version. Can you make it happen!?> Best seller of the year im tellin ya, and who cares what you charge! If you build it they will come.

Spike_SPGLThe knife looks great after dying it, I am considering doing the same thing. Quick question, will that dye eventually wear off and show up on the inside of my pockets?

MrSaucemanYeah I really agree. I just ordered the paladin in Mass drop Green and im gonna hit it with a black dye for a green black two tone look. Hopefully the G10 weave is the same and shows the dye the same as the Swordfish. After carrying the knife and using it since this post I have not noticed any dye transfer or color distortion. Adding Distilled vinegar to the dye solution when dying allows for the dye to chemically bond to the G10 instead of just sitting on top of it. You shouldn't see any transfer or wear for as long as you own the knife. Something to keep in mind is make sure to use RIT LIQUID DYE. Results are all based on that one fact. Post pics when finished, cant wait to see your creation!
