Spokes30I don't consider the PM2 to be a great EDC knife it also is large. Over 8" open length is too big for EDC. If you need to do real work fine, but this is not a real work type of knife. I use my EDC to cut my steak in a restaurant, I would get a lot of stares if I pulled this out.
Spokes30Might just be your opinion. Most of the size is in the handle with only 3.5inchs in blade. Being a guy with big hands, anything under 8.5 inches is a nice edc for me, but it also depends on the aggresive look of the knife or not. This knife looks nice, slick, and gentleman'ish.
Spokes30The parameters for the "EDC category" is entirely subjective. What you consider an EDC-sized knife is surely different from say, what Lynn Thompson might regard as EDC-sized.
NarqLaws in your state somewhat determines what is an EDC knife is. I would not want to get picked up because I had this behemoth knife. An 8.5" long knife is considered a large knife and with large or small hands it will attract attention in a populated area. EDCing is not bushcrafting or working on a farm, those are work knives where a larger knife is expected. If you can get away with it without attracting the attention of the cops or freaking people out then go to it, buy it.
NarqTexas is by far not like much of the US and you have to accept that, even though most of us knife bearers don't like it. There are a lot of nutty people out there afraid of everything which is what our government wants us to be like so that they we are at their mercy. I am sure there are those in Texas who are like that too. If you want to take the risk of alarming people and having the possible associated reaction then wing out in a restaurant an 8.5" knife. I wouldn't do it, even in Texas. You never know with all the cell phones out there that some nut job is going to call the police on you and you never know how they will react. You can avoid all of that by carrying a more reasonably sized knife which is what an EDC knife is.
