Has anyone used these poles before? Would it be better to get the Ergo grip (15 degree grip, 2 carbon/ 1 aluminum section) or the Carbon without the 15 degree grip angle but all 3 carbon sections?

LustyDusty33I have the straight Black Diamond Alpine Carbon Cork Trekking Pole I bought from Moosejaw for $150. They were a replacement for my older aluminum flicklock poles. I can wholeheartedly endorse these poles. I'm 6'-1" and 240 lbs; these have never buckled or failed. I also use them as poles on a 'Tarptent' brand tent. I've used other poles with different locking mechanisms and the BD flicklock is the best IMHO. I love the carbon straight poles but can't comment on the ergos. I also bought the rubber tips since I use them a lot in rocky terrain and it gets a better grip.

SandmanBravoI appreciate the respond! I have gone with the straight Black Diamond Carbon Cork Trekking Pole. I feel like I will be very happy with this choice. See you on the trail!
