Does this still make sense if I already placed an order for the Drop Panda Headphones? Thinking of using this w/ IEMs when I'm doing something physical like washing dishes.
XnightcrawlHard to say? The Panda at CanJam NYC had decent clamp and less wire to swing in front of you while doing dishes, and I wouldn’t press buttons with either system if my hands were wet. That said, it’s nice to have something like this if you feel like “adding” Bluetooth to headphones and IEMs you already own. I’ve decided I prefer Bluetooth in airports and public transit (you don’t have to unwind/wind up cables if you feel like having a short listen), walking (no wind or rubbing noise from cable), and any situation where I want extended range. True Wireless IEMs are neat (I know you didn’t ask about them), but moving the Bluetooth receiver, DAC, amp, and batteries outside of the in-ear shell make the ear pieces lighter. Just some food for thought. At $50 now, IMO this is a very good deal even if you were just looking for a DAC/amp under $100.

EvshrugThanks!!! I am actually looking for a true wireless IEM for my daughter, but I don't to pay for apple price for them. If you could recommend a product, I would appreciate it. You are correct that IMO is a great deal, but I don't think it make sense for me to purchase it if I placed an order for the Panda THX. I guess I have something to ponder until this drop ends.
XnightcrawlWell, this @ $50 (USD) + a pair of tin Audio IEMs or something would be cheaper than Airpods and sound better, plus she could make any other headphone bluetooth as well. I have seen refurbished 1More true wireless for $60, but refurb means they might’ve been in someone else’s ear (ew!), I’m not confident about the sound quality of most true wireless IEMs at that price point (1More has decent reviews though), and the GET has that nice modular form factor... the weight is off her ears (more comfort), she could always upgrade her IEMs down the road without paying for Bluetooth again, and if one piece breaks you don’t lose the whole setup. IMO the sound quality of $50 GET + $30 3.5mm wired Apple EarPods >= Apple Airpods.

EvshrugGonna assume it's a kid we're talking about here. They won't appreciate that you got something different compared to what their friends/idols/influencers have at first. If you can deal with her initial dissatisfaction of not receiving airpods then this purchase is better in the long run for sure.
