As an Aussie, I've already been using this umbrella for over 1 years. All I can say is: it's great but it's very small. Like really, really small.
I wouldn't use it because my backpack frequently got drenched behind my back. I bought one for myself but I eventually gave it to my girlfriend who fortunately loves it because it fits her better and she finds it cute. I then bought the classic stick umbrella from the same company and I haven't looked back since.
So if you could, skip this and get the classic when it's available.
Having said that, Blunt products are only second to Senz's in term of wind resistance, but Senz products are just weird and people will give you weird looks on the street when you use them. However, Blunt customer service is phenomenal. They gladly replaced my umbrella with a new one when I complained and sent it back, all because a cap fell off.
Verdict: the Metro is cute, colourful, strong and highly capable, even though it's huge and heavy when folded and disappointingly small when in use, it's a thumbs-up from me. The concept is sound, get this for any unexpected drizzles but not much else.

SurefireThanks for the review. I am fine with "weirdness" - I kind of like how it looks. But the size of the umbrella when opened is too small for me. It looks like I will not be able to carry any bags without getting them wet.

ZZ_UPennThe Senz umbrellas are definitely weird, not in a bad way, but they are still weird. However, performance-wise they are the best, withstanding the most brutal winds and still staying in shape. Although if the weather gets that bad, I still question anyone's sanity walking around in all that wind and rain in the first place.
Having said that, I still value the eye-saving, rounded struts and the traditional circular shape of the Blunts. You know, if you ever own an umbrella, make sure it's round and big enough so you could share it with your significant other, too! The Classic Blunt fits the bill, this Metro does not, due to its size and weight.
These are good for emergencies and gifting, but not as your primary umbrella.

SurefireI would say their service is bad in New Zealand
