Nice watch his Bulova. But why so cheap? Mostly for 2 reasons. First is not made in Swiss. Second is just quartz - so has nothing to do with arts, engineering, etc.
I will never buy it. Get The SARB065 Special for about $150 more and you will have a real watch, forever.
SubaruSaying that quartz movements are not examples of engineering or art is just typical, ignorant watch elitism. You're even implying that a quartz watch is not a "real watch"!!
In the mid-1900s, the US government had delayed Bulova's commercial release of the Quartz Accutron movement to prevent the Soviet Union from obtaining the technology back during the Cold War. These quartz movements were also used on the spaceships of America's first manned space missions. Bulova has a great history with their quartz movements, and have made some good technological advances. Does that have nothing to do with arts or engineering?
Also, according to Bulova, this watch is accurate to 10 seconds a year. If that's not good engineering, I don't know what is. There's also something beautiful about the practicality and utilitarian nature of a Quartz watch.
SubaruCall that a real watch??
For about $12,000 - 15,000 more you can get yourself an Audemars Piguet or Patek Philippe. If you want to be a snob or for some reason value complications and Swiss "engineering" over having an inexpensive accurate timepiece, those are two of the brands you should be looking at.
