would someone be able to do the same tricks they would with a regular butterfly knife or is it limited

ShyamPatelNo, it is only a novelty. I can make my flies whistle. This just wobbles. This is a nice toy. A great point for it is that the cover shells protect your pocket from your sharp key. I would think of buying another one if it was cleaned up mechanically.
