These speakers although near field desktop speakers as far as connections is very similar to standard non powered home speakers you need either on integrated amplifier or a pre amp and amplifier. From you computer you would be selling your self short by not getting a external DAC (digital analog convertor) to bring these to life . Centrance does make a DAC amp combo for this but Like the flexibility of separate components. The Little NAD and N22 are also good options from what I have read they get great reviews, I posted a somewhat detailed list of my setup. a few pages back.
The T amps were an option but if you ever heard an amp run out of juice before the speakers start to shine its a hard sell and the reviews are mixed. I would hate for someone to miss what these speakers are capable of because of the amp. If someone has used a t amp with these please chime in and correct me if I am misspeaking.

bigro21These speakers use the exact same connections as any non-powered speaker. And yeah, as you said, an integrated amplifier (preamp + power amp in one unit) or a separate preamp and power amp are required (or a receiver if you want a tuner too).
Amps running out of power suck. You'll get clipping, and you can damage your speakers. It's always better to have a bit more power than not enough.
