Mineral crystal - no buy. I wouldnt mind shelling out a bit more for sapphire but mineral is just no-go.

KKYHI'm with you--emeralds, rubies, and sapphires--that's all I'll ever accept in an inexpensive, quartz watch. Standards must be maintained!

KKYHDirected more towards folks who aren't nice to their timepieces! Got a bunch of damn watches, but only one or two of 'em came with a genuine sapphire crystal--but none of them have any scratches. 'Course I'm a Seiko-guy for the most part, so the majority of mine are protected by Seiko's famous Hardlex crystal. Not sure what that actually is, but from my experience, they hardlex ever scratch ;- )
