Pretty and solid, but useless. I don't know which teeny, skinny cone was used in testing, but this did not work for 4 out of 5 thread cones in my sewing room. The thread either constantly snagged or, more often than not, simply didn't fit on the stand itself. It would wobble half-on, half-off. Also, the whole thing is just way too short for my sewing machine (a Babylock Jane). Check the measurements for sure, because it needed to be about five inches taller in order to not catch on my machine. I really regret buying the thread holder.
