Seriously over-priced and under featured. It's as if these guys have never seen their competitors and are just pulling prices out of thin air. Or alternatively, assume MD shoppers are a bunch of ill-informed, dip-shits willing to buy anything placed before them? If you're looking for this level of quality/features at a more realistic price, check out Walmart's camping/sporting goods department, or brands like Voodoo Tactical from most military surplus-type stores. If you're willing to spend more for better quality, there are endless possibilities. Maxpedition, for one, comes to mind.

RayFBecause I have no idea why this is overpriced: why would you recommend against this? Quality seems good? But I'm guessing it isn't?

Noldir Okay-ish quality, but overpriced compared to similar bags available elsewhere.

RayFI have the same backpack, or at the very least the same design with the SOC label and black color authorized in the military. While I'm not entirely sure what they mean by modularity, the backpack itself is incredibly spaceous and has quite a few hidden pockets. It's lasted six years with absolutely no signs of significant damage, just slight wear and tear.

slayer1027 I'm not knocking the utility or the quality, just the price. Truth is, most of the bags and packs of this type are made in Viet Nam and China and they do great work in the mid to low end range. For most folks--the kind who's lives don't depend on every piece of gear they buy, that's plenty good enough! The issue is on the retail end, where some sellers take an average bag and mark up price beyond its range and value. I'm serious when I suggest checking Walmart, your neighborhood sporting goods store and sites like Cheaper than Dirt first, before plunking down this kind of dough for this kind of bag. Which is to say, unless you're a CIA operative vacationing in Afghanistan for the next four years, an average bag at an average price is more than sufficient. If someone is looking for something much better, I still suggest looking at Maxpedition for comparison (I have several of their bags and have beat the shit out of them over the past eight years, without issue).

RayFWell RayF, you know I’m you’re biggest fan and my intent is not to invoke your wrath, but........ $69 isn’t a terrible price if you see what you can get at Big5 or a similarly budget end sporting goods store compared to this bag. Compared to a 5.11 bag of the same size, this is a steal. This would be a great trunk bag to keep some jumper cables, recovery strap, bottles of water and whatnot if you’re stranded in your car. I’ve never felt these kinds of bags are great for hiking and usually cause a lot of back pain. I’ll say the same about 5.11, great quality and organization, crappy ergonomics for serious “Black Ops” Also, I’m kinda 50/50 on the Maxpedition. They make a lot of great small/medium modular bags. Not to be a douche, but Mystery Ranch has been my go to for legit work. I have quite a few for personal and professional work. MR unveiled they’re non USA made, budget, line which is phenomenal. .....and again.....I don’t want any trouble, sir 👊🏾
